This is a painting made in oil on panel in 1939, as indicated by the stamp on the back of the panel (see last figure). The painting is signed C. Borg (see photo). It depicts a river in a landscape with a rock face in the background. It was probably created for a painting exhibition in France as demonstrated by the stamp: juin 1939. It could be traced back to the works of Carl Oscar Borg, a Swedish artist who lived between 1879 and 1947. The composition is very pleasant: it is a landscape with zoomorphic figures (fawns and deer). The artist was very skilled in the rendering of the trees and animals, with a skilful use of color and glazes. The signature is at the bottom left. The measurements of the painting are 81cm x63cm.
